The Eugene O'Neill National Historic Site is located on private, gated property utilized by a community of neighboring residents. Visitors to the Eugene O'Neill National Historic Site must make reservations at least 24 hours ahead of time and will be transferred by a park shuttle from the Town of Danville, California. The house and gardens of the "Tao House" are open to the public. Before returning to Danville on the shuttle, visitors get a self-guided tour of the property and have time to explore it before leaving.

Sugarloaf is located just north of Walnut Creek, near the junction of Interstate 680 and Highway 9. It's a tiny natural area with one of the last black walnut orchards in the city.

The ridgeline offers views of Mount Diablo, Shell Ridge, and Las Trampas Ridge. There are several picnic areas, a native plant garden, and an amphitheater as well as various short hikes. The picnic areas and amphitheater may be reserved through the park information line for group use and overnight camping.

5. China Wall | Alamo, CA 94598

The China Wall in Alamo, California is part of Mount Diablo State Park. These sandstone formations create a row of rocks that resembles the Great Wall of China down the hill. The majority of the trek will take place in Diablo Foothills Regional Park.
