The Berkeley Tennis Club was established in 1906 and formerly occupied 2624 Hillegass Avenue. The Club moved to its current site at One Tunnel Road in 1917. There are three membership levels: single, couple, and family.
Many renowned tennis players have called Berkeley Tennis Club home, including Sasha Podkolzina (of the Girls’ 18 National Champion), Hazel Wightman (of the Wightman Cup), and Jeff Borowiak are among them. The club was host to many tournaments including the Pacific Coast Championships and Redwood Bank, in which greats such as Rod Laver played.
Billie Jean King recently returned to the Club at which she used to play frequently when she was younger and won the Girls’ 18 National Championship. Billie Jean was given an Honorary Lifetime Membership by the Berkeley Tennis Club at that time. Today, the Club fields several competitive U.S.T.A. League teams and runs a strong Junior Development Program.

Triple Rock Brewing first produced beer on Christmas day 1985, and it was opened to the public a year later. They say that the brewpub is the fifth opened in the United States, and the oldest currently operating with the original equipment. The Roaring Rock Brewery & Alehouse began operations under that name but changed it in 1989 at the request of Latrobe Brewing Company, owners of Rolling Rock brand beer. In 2008, Triple Rock owners acquired Drake’s Brewing Company in San Leandro, California.

The University of California, Berkeley’s William Randolph Hearst Greek Theatre, also known locally as simply the Greek Theater, is an 8,500-seat amphitheater that is owned and operated by the university.

The Church is committed to equipping its members with the word of God so that they can share it throughout all regions and even beyond our walls. They hope this will allow them to continue extending their kingdom in Bay Districts, alongside other conversions across town.
4. Newman Hall-Holy Spirit Parish, 2700 Dwight Way, Berkeley, CA 94704 (510) 848-7812
The Newman Club at the University of California, Berkeley, was founded in 1899 and entrusted to the Paulist Fathers on August 15, 1907. The original Newman Hall in Berkeley was built in 1909. The current church building, which became Holy Spirit Parish on May 13, 1967, has stood since then as the site of many gatherings.
Newman Hall-Holy Spirit Parish is a spiritual home to undergrad and grad students at UC Berkeley, as well as adults and families from the surrounding area. This special combination of student residents has created an inclusive community where all can feel welcome in their love for Christ.

A religious community at work in the world. The University Lutheran Chapel is a dynamic church in Berkeley, located just south of the UC Berkeley campus. For more than 60 years, they have served as both a parish congregation and Lutheran Campus Ministry on the university campus. They offer a creative worship experience with progressive theology, pastoral care, and a caring community that is unique. They are dedicated to social justice, respect for individual conscience, and equality for all people, particularly those who are most vulnerable.
They were one of the first congregations in the Bay Area to declare themselves Reconciling in Christ (RIC), and they have been active supporters of Extraordinary Lutheran Ministries (ELM). The community pledges to support refugees, immigrants, aliens, conscientious objectors, and other persons seeking refuge and comfort among its members.

Willard Park near Elmwood is a great place to spend time with your family. It has large grassy fields, tot play yard, and tennis courts that make it an ideal spot for all ages
Willard Park is a great place to take your toddler. They can play on the new, improved playground with all its baby swings and structures. The giant tree has provided shade over the mini-park and plenty of benches where parents may relax while watching children interact creatively or simply enjoy themselves at their own pace.

The University of California, Berkeley’s Clark Kerr Campus (also known as Unit 5 or simply “the Kerr”) is part of the university’s residence hall system. The majority of Clark Kerr Campus is used for student housing for incoming freshmen, with additional services such as sports and recreational facilities, Academic Service Center: Clark Kerr Campus, and Reshall Peer Advisors: Clark Kerr Campus.
The Clark Kerr Campus is named after Dr. Clark Kerr, who served as University of California Berkeley’s first Chancellor from 1952 to 1958 and then as president of the University of California from 1958 to 1967.
The City of Berkeley has designated Clark Kerr Campus a landmark since 1981. In 1982, the Clark Kerr Campus was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

The Berkeley City High School is a public high school in the heart of downtown Berkeley. The only one for miles around, it’s also recognized as an iconic landmark with its yellow jacket mascot and west side location just off Shattuck Ave.
4. Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive, 2155 Center St, Berkeley, CA 94720 (510) 6426290
The University of California, Berkeley’s Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA) is a combined art museum, repertory movie theater, and archive. Lawrence Rinder was the director from 2008 to August 2020, when he was succeeded by Julie Rodrigues Widholm. The museum is a member of the North American Reciprocal Museums program.
5. Edwards Stadium, 2223 Fulton St, Berkeley, CA 94704 (510) 6438038
The University of California’s famous Edwards Stadium is not just a track and field, but also home to the Golden Bears soccer team.
The stadium is at the southwest corner of the Berkeley campus, on Bancroft Way near Fulton Street, and seats 22,000 people. To the east are panoramic views of the Berkeley Hills and Strawberry Canyon, while to the west are vistas of San Francisco Bay, Golden Gate Bridge, and San Francisco cityscape.
Edwards Stadium has hosted eight NCAA championships, a National AAU championship, and the 1971 and ’78 USA vs. USSR dual meets, among other events. There have been 12 world records (including records by Dutch Warmerdam, Jim Ryun, Pat Matzdorf, and Henry Rono), 26 American records, and 24 collegiate records set at Edwards.
