Pleasant Hill Park is a heavily visited in, CA recreational area. Pleasant Hill Park is a central CA landmark. Consists of a wide variety of activities and amenities for all ages to enjoy. Pleasant Hill has 82 parks covering 958 acres making up 20% of the total parkland in Contra Costa County (California).  Pleasant Hill’s topography is flat with an elevation ranging between 15 – 75 feet above sea level. 

From a playground with swings and slides to an outdoor amphitheater, there are plenty of things to do when you visit! The park also offers picnic shelters, horseshoe pits, and restrooms for your convenience. If you’re feeling adventurous, take on the challenge of the terrain course located near the playground! Be sure to come out and enjoy this beautiful space while it’s still warm outside!

 How to get there:

1) Get in your car or take a bus. 

2) Head East on Washington for about 1 mile.

3) Turn left onto El Dorado Ave.

 4) Turn right onto La Loma Rd. 

5) Drive down La Loma Rd., which will turn into Monument Blvd., for about 3 miles until you reach the park entrance on your left-hand side with a big sign that says “Pleasant Hill Park”. You’re there!

Pleasant Hills Park is generally used for high school sporting events due to the availability of larger fields. Pleasant Hill’s park and recreation department manages 55 parks covering 2,084 acres making up 27% of the total parkland in the city.

The first park we’ll be discussing is Alta Vista Gardens which has a variety of gardens that are maintained by volunteers and offers educational tours for all ages. 

The second park we’ll be talking about is the Anthony Chabot Dog Park where dogs can play off-leash in a safe environment with plenty of water fountains and shade!

 Lastly, we’ll be discussing Baldwin’s Creek which has many trails that are great for biking or hiking. Alta Vista Gardens-Anthony Chabot Dog Park-Baldwin Ranch Park-Bayo Vista Park.
