Strawberry Creek Fire Trails via Dwight Way is a 6.8-kilometer out-and-back trail with lovely wildflowers that is categorized as tough and is located in Berkeley, California. The trail is open all year and is generally utilized for hiking, running, and nature walks. This pathway is also suitable for dogs.

It’s excruciatingly steep and exhausting. I’m glad I went through with it. I’m going to turn around and measure my return individually. This is only a record of the climb. In Berkeley, there’s a nice spot to park on the road and stroll up into the hills. This hike can be made into a loop in a variety of ways.

The first mile and a half is a succession of short but intense climbs up some steep hills. In the first two miles, you gain about 1100 feet. The trail then flattens out before gradually climbing till you reach the heights. Oh, and the vistas are very stunning.

This is an excellent trail for a vigorous workout that is also dog-friendly.

Where Dwight Way terminates, the trail is fairly accessible. There is plenty of parking, both metered and unmetered. The walk begins with a strenuous climb up a flight of stairs. There are a few sheltered patches about a quarter of the way up, but the trail is mostly exposed after that. Hiking boots or shoes and plenty of water are required! If you have knee problems, I would also recommend bringing poles because there are some very steep areas with loose gravel. At times, the descent proved difficult.

At several points along the walk, there are benches with magnificent views of the Bay Area. On a clear day, the UC-Berkeley campus, San Francisco, the GG Bridge, Bay Bridge, Port of Oakland, downtown Oakland, Marin, and other sights may be seen.

This is not a trek for the faint of heart!

This is a difficult terrain to navigate, especially if you are not wearing hiking shoes. All along the trip, there are breathtaking views. There were no views and no places to sit at the highest point, which was a bit disappointing. But there are lots of places to get those items along the road.
