Murwood is a transitional kindergarten (TK) for 365 children in the rising Walnut Creek neighborhood to fifth grade elementary school. Murwood represents our community’s best in being a beautifully diverse high, situated in a neighborhood of the middle class. History says Murwood is located on land donated by two families exchanging surnames to create the “Murwood” logo. Murwood is a richly diverse community containing many of Walnut Creek’s socioeconomic aspects. We welcome students from areas of Alamo, suburban communities of Walnut Creek, and the large community of Creekside, taking us families from all over the world. Murwood is also their first educational cultural experience within the U.S. We are proud to be warm and welcoming, resulting in regular contact from families moving to the United States to request unique placement in our group. Their teachers, workers and families are working hard to ensure that newcomers feel comfortable and inclusive.

Murwood School’s family, community and staff should grow literate, outstanding learners who are highly motivated, imaginative and sensitive, in a child-centered, stimulating atmosphere that cultivates character and encourages learning. All students in the middle-school grades will leave Murwood Elementary School prepared for success.

Murwood is a well established culture. Teachers, parent volunteers, and so on aim to get parents motivated. Most of their children feel safe and happy to attend Murwood, and there they continue to thrive. Parents feel lucky that their children are going to attend such a stunning public school. This school successfully tackles homework. They make use of technology by providing free online access to educational programs where certificates are received. Their homework books are similar to what they had read and learned in college. The books on homework are close to what they read and learned at college.

Murwood is part of Walnut Creek School District. Walnut Creek Elementary School District is a traditional TK-8 district in the central Bay Area. The Walnut Creek neighborhood is a rare mix of industrial, suburban, and open space areas. At six primary schools and one middle school, the district is responsible for meeting the educational needs of about 3,600 students. In 2015 the sixth elementary school, a K-8 school, was opened. Students in grades TK-5 primarily study in self-contained classes, while students in grades 6-8 are enrolled in both core and elective courses.
