5 Questions To Ask When Deciding Whether Or Not To Extend Your Concrete Driveway

You have a concrete driveway and you are considering whether or not to extend it. You know that your current driveway is in need of some work, but you are unsure if the cost of the extension will be worth the investment. Wanting to make sure you make an informed decision, here are 5 questions to ask yourself when deciding whether or not to extend your concrete driveway:

1. What is the current condition of my driveway?

If it is cracked, how deep are they and what other damage does it need to fix before extending? Is there a surface sealer that needs to be applied or resurfacing work needed on corners or in areas with heavy vehicular traffic? Would an extension cover some of these issues, allowing me to extend for less cost than if I repaired them first.

2. How much will this project impact my budget at this time?

Will the investment allow me more extra room so that guests can park without having cars bumping into each other when one car leaves while another tries to enter; giving me additional space where people could gather after a barbecue ?

3.Can I afford the cost of extending my concrete driveway?

Will it make sense, considering that if a storm came or heavy rains fell and there was no way to park in the garage, then guests would not be able to come inside. And what about the children who live with me full-time – will they have enough room for their bicycles and scooters without having them parked on our front lawn?

4.What about the costs to extend my driveway – does it cost less than moving or building from scratch on another lot with an extended driveway?

Will I have enough room for guests, children’s toys, cars, etc.? Do you know how much concrete & fill dirt is needed to build our extension (length x width) ? How long will it take before we can use the new extension if work starts tomorrow?
